He says that writing stories and novel doesn’t give him the same satisfaction that he gets by writing poems. Poetry is an art that let a poet accurately depict the realities of society and the world. Kishan Dhami believes that if used prudently, poetry is a powerful tool through which poet can achieve multiple objectives. For example, a poet through his poetry can touch the heart of the reader, encourage nationalism or jingoism, criticize the society in a constructive way, depict what an idyllic society should be, indicate values of the society, inspire the reader to do something, cultivate the love, solace the soul, or even sow the seeds of hate. Due to this, Kishan Dhami loves poetry more than writing stories and novels, and he loves it when someone calls him a poet.

Kishan Dhami was born in Darchula District which is an underdeveloped district. Among his siblings are one brother and five sisters. He was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His parents would earn limited income. However, despite poverty and limited income, his parents would try his best to fulfill his every desire. That is why his heart is brim with love for his parents, and he cannot forget the lovely childhood spent with parents. After his school, he moved to Kathmandu, some of his friend move to India for work. Kishan had a dream to be a Deuda singer. He has a good and mellifluous voice. In Kathmandu, he would live in a hostel where he would often sing on the request of his friends. His fellow friends would encourage him to become a singer because of his impressive singing. However, luck had chosen something else for him. Because of his financial struggle, he had to give up his dream to be a singer. He couldn’t afford to concentrate full time on mastering singing. He had to find a job to meet his both end meet. Therefore, he started his first job in Toyota. Later on, he got a job in the French embassy as an assistant of ambassador. He worked as an assistant to the ambassador for almost 20 years. During this tenure, he also visited France several times.
In 2014, he came to the USA because he views the USA as the land of opportunities. He thinks that many people sought to settle in the USA just because of the success prospects. Here in the USA, he considers himself as an ambassador of Nepali literature and culture, and he wants to promote the Nepali literature and culture. He is ambitious to take his contribution to Nepali literature to the next level. Although he is working on his next novel, he primarily wants to do something different. He wants to help rising Nepalese poets and guide them on how to succeed in the field of literature. He wants to help hidden talent glimmer by providing all the guidance that a young writer or poet needs. He wants to guide youth how they can learn the characteristics of good poetry by learning quality literature, how they can publish their own book and earn income from writing a book. He thinks that Nepali youth underestimates the earning potential through literature writing. Through quality writings, successful poets and writers earn millions along with éclat that every successful member of the literary community enjoys.

Earning by being a writer is not only for selected people only. The field is square and offers equal opportunities to every poet and writer who is willing to exert honesty and persistently. Honesty and persistence is the success recipe. Kishan Dhami believes that the importance of literature is not only limited to earning potential. Many writers and poets have used the literature to put their nations on the right track or inspire the nation to achieve something. Kishan Dhami believes in the power of literature and he wants to spur a revolution of the renaissance of literature among Nepali Youth.
